- Hoberman stretcher
- an extrapolation of Hoberman Unfolding Structures not yet developed.
"Unfolding Structures are objects that change their size and shape.
Their process of transformation is smooth, fluid and continuous. Shape
implies structure. Transformation implies mechanism. In [Hoberman's] work,
mechanical and structural functions are mutually reinforcing. These two
functions are unified through the underlying geometry of Unfolding
Structures. This geometric principle provides a method of making linkages
whose size changes, but whose overall shape remains constant. Each piece of
an Unfolding Structure performs a dual function. Its members form a
structural network that spans distances, supports loads and provides
shelter. Yet these same pieces are also the links of a mechanism,
transferring forces to create movement. They are constructed of many simple
parts that are connected by hinges or pivots. The complete transformation of
size and shape develops from the accumulation of incremental movements
between neighboring pieces. The result is synergistic: the behavior of the
whole is unpredicted by its parts. See cue/www=http://www.hoberman.com

- holoscreen
- display screen for infraware,
whether stationary or llevar,
comprised of a projection into mid-air of a 3-dimensional virtual reality

for years); see also foilscreen

- honey-jug plant

- Honi soit qui mal y pense
- Shamed be he who thinks evil of it (language=Français; motto of the
Order of the Garter); literally, evil to him who evil thinks [Roget's
Pocket Thesaurus]
- house-row
- From Center for Environmental Structure's A Pattern Language,
their "Row House" Pattern: "At densities of 15 to 30 houses
per acre, row houses are essential. But typical row houses are dark inside,
and stamped from an identical mold. Therefore: For row houses, place houses
along pedestrian paths that run at right angles to local roads and parking
lots, and give each house a long frontage and a shallow depth. # Make the
individual houses and cottages as long and thin along the paths as possible
— LONG THIN HOUSE; vary the houses according to the different household
types — THE FAMILY, HOUSE FOR A SMALL FAMILY, HOUSE FOR A COUPLE, HOUSE
FOR ONE PERSON; build roads across the paths, at right angles to them —
PARALLEL ROADS, NETWORK OF PATHS AND CARS, with small parking lots off the
road - SMALL PARKING LOTS. In other respects build row houses in clusters
— HOUSE CLUSTER, BUILDING COMPLEX." [Alexander et alia; see Acknowledgments]
- Huevadas
- Accursed things, actually based on the word for "egg," one
that's gotten cracked and therefore, is crazy or gone bad or both (language=Cheleno
a form of Castellano spoken in Chile) [Paola Klinger]
-
- Huevones
- Accursed people, origin similar to Huevadas (language=Cheleno a
form of Castellano spoken in Chile) [Paola Klinger]

- human dream archetypes
- some of those who interpret dreams say that dreams mostly fit a set of
archetypes, which of course vary according to the school of interpretation.
I've used this concept when describing how dreamsticks
and dreamballs work;
specificially I've referred to replay-dreams about experiences common to
humans, such as:
 | 0 = the womb
 | 3a = learning how to crawl
 | 3b = learning how to walk
| | |
Since everyone goes through these and other sequences in life, I figure some
archetypes would replay those experiences since dreams are partially
intended to incorporate recent experience into our complete experience.
Besides, they become very useful in dreamstick effects.
