     For too many foul beasties lurk in the seamy underbelly of our continent. I talk not about roaring gwira, gobbling shichimencho, trumpeting mokele-mbembe, fellow travelers on this planet whom we can respect or enjoy. I talk of el Chupacabras, sucking life out of our innocents. I rant about filthy durian bats with their spindly wings and greasy fur. I shudder whenever my thoughts stray to these and other marauders who live unseen among us. Who will protect us against the invasions, the assaults, the diseases spread by these vermin? I despair!
