Notable excerpts: Forum for Ganj-Dareh Collective, moderated by Pfic Ira Hayes [Neighborhood Xref=Awaji].      Moderator Hayes: Our next order of business concerns the anonymous posting in the "Slaughter in the Paths" Klatsch. I have asked Jul Streicher Stuermer, Tactician of the Combine providing Mirnaya-Direvnya service to Ganj Dareh, to join us for this item. I open the floor to discussion.
Pen Ribaum Malchard [Neighborhood Xref=Dwygyfylch]: How did this happen? By the Open-and-Accountable Pattern, this should not happen. I'd like to get that answered first.
Moderator Hayes: I will poll the forum.
[moderator requests pulse: out of 484,519 active in klatsch, 83% aye, 14% nay, 3% abstain]
Moderator Hayes: Tactician Stuermer, can you answer the question?
Jul Streicher Stuermer [Neighborhood Xref=Korakianitis]: I have no answer. I have been so busy maintaining service levels that I noticed the entries only after I received your message about them. However, I can tell everyone this: posting an anonymous entry into a meeting/will-be-heard is very, very difficult. I personally know no one who could have done it even if he wanted to.
     Pen Ribaum: Gleest?
      Jul Streicher: [shrugging] Probably.
Pen Auteur Hamilton [Neighborhood Xref=Clancy]: Why do you assume we're under attack by gleests? Someone from Ganj Dareh could have done this.
Jul Streicher: Those images are disgusting! Have you seen them? Have you all seen them? How could anyone from our direvnya — our own neighbors — have posted them? I ... I feel soiled just knowing they reside in the same will-hear that I am sworn to maintain, where my children chat with their friends, that I use to schedule my barbershop-singing gigs. I — I am so sorry, sorry I — I ... I promise you all that from now on, I will do my best to serve you. Never again will I ... I let you down. Never!
Pen Auteur: If someone from Ganj Dareh posted these, their name would be on them.
Pen Ribaum: Then we would ask — no, we would tell them to erase their posting, normally something only the originator can do, then we would seek charges against them.
Pen Auteur: [sobbing] But we don't know who did it.
Gum Pandy Portasani [Neighborhood Xref=Aharon]: [whispering] That may be part of the point. [normal voice] Have any you ever considered that the Open-and-Accountable Pattern may be wrong, at least in some areas?
[moderator requests pulse: out of 485,069 active in klatsch, 91% nay, 9% abstain]
Gum Pandy: I have been, been thinking about it, that is. Why would anyone not want his or her name on whatever he or she had to say? Because she was afraid, uh, afraid of retribution, afraid to tell the truth because it revealed something bad about someone else, who would, uh, cause harm to anyone who revealed this, uh, secret.
Steal Jussen Petertin [Neighborhood Xref=Osaka]: Why doesn't this "she" just go to an anshin counselor? That's what we hire the anshin to take care of, right? If there's a crime involved, if there are victims of that crime, the anshin are equipped to take care of all that, am I right?
Gum Pandy: Well, yes, you are right — as far as you go. But, but — I'm not talking about this anonymous bodycount — that person is not a victim — but his postings got me to thinking — it just never had occurred to me — before all this — that anonymity might have a purpose. I mean, are we missing something?
     Steal Jussen: Like what?
Gum Pandy: Listen, shit-for-brains, if we knew that, we wouldn't be missing something! It's part of the definition of the words.
Moderator Hayes: Settle down, Gum Pandy.
Gum Pandy: I'm making a point here, Moderator! Listen up, Steal Jussen Petertin! You're really stupid. I can see that you live in Osaka Neighborhood and with that as a cue ... I now know exactly where your house is, and I'm coming over there and shove your face in.
Moderator Hayes: Make your point, Gum Pandy.
Gum Pandy: That is my point. You say something somebody disagrees with and you run the risk that person would rather fight than argue. Why don't our Pattern Languages account for that? Why don't they let us argue safely without identities?
Flem Ianing Bondthinker: Have you forgotten G๋ so quickly? Have you forgotten Mondonguillo? Anonymity is like the dark: it gives Evil a hiding place to launch from, to retreat to after inflicting disaster. Whoever posted those pictures hides because he knows we'd come after him if he didn't.
Gum Pandy: That knife cuts both ways, as I just showed.
Lens Mooreted Photog [Neighborhood Xref=Hattie]: That's why we have "Accountable" in "Open-and-Accountable."
Gum Pandy: Oh, yeah, and what if you don't know who did it and where they are?
Lens Mooreted: That's why we have "Open" in "Open-and-Accountable."
Gum Pandy: Wait, wait! Are you saying that the only way we can have complete safety is to completely eliminate anonymity?
Lens Mooreted: Yes, that's why we did it that way.
Ry Ne-Con Sean [Neighborhood Xref=Bezymyany]: Does that mean that if we can't guarantee "Open-and-Accountable," then we must provide a means to be anonymous?
Lens Mooreted: Oh, but we do guarantee it. We do make everyone open and accountable. Quite well, I might add.
Gum Pandy: But what if you cannot eliminate it completely?
      Lens Mooreted: But we did!
Man Blackfrom Honor [Neighborhood Xref=Columbine]: No, we didn't. I know: I've been there.
[unusual gap in participation: 5.57 seconds]
Pen Dehn Paul: People, people, please. I'd say Gum Pandy and the others have valid points. At times, I too have wondered that we might have left something out or overlooked something or let something important fall through the cracks? We built our wonderful Pattern Languages and made them common across the world. Then we nested them to enable various layers of diversity. So millions of people have examined them closely to add their own little touches. But I have asked myself before, did we forget something? Did the Founders hide something on purpose? Is there some detail of the human condition that we overlook? Some detail that festered and is now causing these troubles of ours? Did you ever think about that?
     Steal Jussen: Nah!
Gum Pandy: You really are an ass, Steal Jussen. Moderator Hayes, I request a poll.
[moderator requests pulse: out of 485,074 active in klatsch, 79% aye, 21% nay]
Moderator Hayes: Apparently, the Collective does find Ger Ogy's point well-taken. I will coordinate a committee to focus discussion of the issue. In the meantime, I request that we focus this discussion more closely on the matter of the anonymous posting.
Jul Streicher: What choice do we have? We should expunge it. As our current moderator, Moderator Hayes, you have the imprimatur to do that if we, the Collective, provide the fiducia.
Moderator Hayes: Very well. Is there any more significant discussion?
[after 30 seconds, moderator requests pulse: out of 485,074 active in klatsch, 96% aye, 4% abstain]
Moderator Hayes: I officially acknowledge this vote as fiducia. Expunge the anonymous postings from the Ganj Dareh meeting/will-be-heard.
     Administrator: Done.
      Moderator Hayes: Any other business?
Gert Auricdigit Frobemask [Neighborhood Xref=Kalgoorlie]: Anshin delinquency. We've given the chief more than a work-cycle to fix things.
Moderator Hayes: The number of Incidents are declining. Chief Heejanus has turned the situation around.
Gert Auricdigit: Improved, yes. Fixed, no. Incidents still far exceed those permitted by our contract with that combine. We must deal more severely with this delinquency. I move that we take further action!
By: Gus Kubizek Hityouth [Neighborhood Xref=Nthaveth; Tactician for Ganj Dareh Contract=Delivery of People and Goods, re-opened for competition due to lack of performance]: I agree. I move for emergency selection of Le Couer de la Patrie as our provider of anshin services.
Moderator Hayes: I rule that motion out-of-order. However, I will reluctantly re-open this matter for discussion.
Ton EaLey Shir [Neighborhood Xref=Apsley]: Fines always get their attention —
