Implemented commercial web-site www.eAutoTrac.com using Microsoft technologies, including VBscript and Javascript, Active Server Pages, SQL Server™ database, and Crystal Reports

Designed intraNet site for a major metropolitan newspaper and a smaller associated newspaper that cataloged all systems containing or potentially containing processors liable to the Y2K “bug.” Designed and documented scenarios for Y2K testing and advised their information-systems professionals in implementing said tests. Developed the site and extensively indexed it using HTML-sensitive tools developed in Visual BASIC. Documented Y2K compliance by hardware and software vendors via links to the Internet. Personally validated Y2K compliance of eight applications written in Microsoft Access with extensive use of Visual BASIC for Applications.

Designed Hospital Quality-Improvement and Risk-Management Applications, working with Users to define requirements, data sources and presentation, including Reappointment Profile and interface with SoftMed™ database. Developed said applications using Microsoft Access forms and reports and Visual BASIC software development tools.

Reverse-engineered ten-year-old Informix application running on AIX system for managing Home­owners Associations, working from no application documentation and minimal system documen­tation. Developed shell scripts for extracting the data, and a filter for converting the data to a Timberline realty-management application using Visual BASIC software development tools.

Provided direct support to international users during the initial implementation of a mineral sales and accounting software application containing over 200 forms and over 100 reports written in ORACLE SQL*Forms, SQL*Menu V3, and RDBMS V7, and MITI's SQR.  Analyzed and repaired problems in forms.  Wrote technical and user documentation designed for use on intraNet using HTML.

Developed a resume-tracking application using Oracle's Developer/2000 and Discoverer/2000 tool-sets operating against an Oracle7 RDBMS

Investigated and documented internals of customer's application portfolio in preparation for development of progressive dynamic systems architecture.  Applications used a variety of technologies based on DEC OpenVMScluster VAX platforms and networked MS-DOS PCs, including MUMPS, Rdb/VMS,  and RMS data-management and DCL, BASIC, USERBASE, and Powerhouse languages.

Designed seminar-workshop on principle-based architecture.

 Designed business solution for $12M proposal for a custom tariff-management application to a tele­com­munications customer based on a client-server architecture involving DEC Alpha OpenVMS and OSF/1 servers, Macintosh PC clients, and Interleaf distributed, object-oriented document-management software.

Initiated client-server solution architecture utilizing DEC ULTRIX servers and MS-DOS PC clients to address $100M federal-government procurement.

Managed customer-site delivery of consulting services to an aerospace customer for program earning $1M in revenue; technologies demonstrated included a proprietary object-oriented manufacturing application, VAX/VMS servers using multiple RDBMS products and supporting MS-DOS- and Macintosh-based applications spanning LAN/WAN.

Handled technical sales support for telecommunications customer resulting in multi-year application-devel­opment project for legal department, generating over $10M in revenues; custom development based on VAX VMScluster systems, ALL-IN-1 IOS, and MS-DOS clients.

Led and later managed a five-man-year project that developed a prototype distributed on-line trans­ac­tion-processing system using ACMS transaction processing, TDMS forms management, CODASYL DBMS, and high-speed shared memory connecting front- and back-end VAX/VMS processors for a fede­ral-government customer.  Presented results of project to Congressional subcommittee.

Designed and built prototypes for advanced, multi-million-dollar geophysical integrated-engineering ap­plication using ACMS transaction processing, TDMS forms management, and CODASYL DBMS on VAX/VMS mainframe systems.

Trained application programmers in use of prototyping techniques and DBMS.
